Why Lamont

Alderman Westmoreland being sworn in as 5th District Alderman, after winning the April 2023 General Election by securing 67% of the vote.

Born and raised right here in Milwaukee, Alderman Westmoreland knows where we came from, where we are, and where we need to be. His top priority since day one has been to improve the quality of life for not just District 5 residents, but for all citizens citywide. That starts with public safety, land development (and redevelopment), more efficient city services, economic growth, improved infrastructure, and everything in-between.

Not only has Alderman Westmoreland made significant process towards quality of life issues like improved public safety, better city services and land development/redevelopment in his role as Alderman. He has made a direct impact - as a Member of the Public Safety & Health Committee as well as the Public Works Committee. Alderman Westmoreland also plays a vital role in redevelopment as a Commissioner with the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee. One of the main reasons why he decided to run for Alderman last year was because he felt many city standards were trending in the wrong direction and he wanted to reverse the trend. Lamont has a tireless work ethic for the community that he has a deep passion for, is results driven, and continuously seeks opportunities for improvement with permanent solutions instead of placing band-aids on problems.

For this election, we have an opportunity to continue steering District 5 in the right direction through hard work, strong communication, transparency, dedication, and integrity - as he’s done for the past several months. Lamont is asking for your support as we continue this journey.
